Predictors of delirium after cardiac surgery in patients with sleep disordered breathing

This study emphasises that post-operative delirium is a multi-factorial disease that affects approximately one-quarter of patients undergoing cardiac surgery. CSA was shown to be independently associated with delirium. Our findings contribute to facilitating the pre-operative identification of patients at high risk of

developing delirium after cardiac surgery. The implementation of intensified delirium prevention strategies into the peri-operative management of such patients may improve post-operative outcome.
