Sleep slow-wave homeostasis and cognitive functioning in children with ESES

In ESES, sleep slow-wave homeostasis is altered by epileptic activity as it is most affected in the epileptic focus. Behavioral problems are associated with reduced slow-wave downscaling, while there is no relation between overnight SWS decline and neuropsychological test results.
